From the Great Lakes website:

A malty Irish Ale with a notable toasty flavor derived from lightly roasted malt.

Well, that pretty much describes it. I always pick some of this up around March, and consider it my typical St. Patty's Day/March kind of beer. Sure beats Coors with red food coloring, er, I mean Kilian's Irish Red. Honestly, I'm not extremely knowledgeable on the Irish Ale, though I always enjoy this one. Seems to be a little better at slightly cooler than room temperature to bring out the flavors. A nice, smooth beer that contains a rather high alcohol percentage but one that's not very noticeable until your on your 4th and it catches up to you. Pours a nice amber red with a slightly foamy head. Looks good, smells good, is good.
